Illinois just pulled off one of the more memorable fake punts you’ll see all season long.
Blake Hayes had so much room in front of him that he seemingly hesitated twice, including once after he was already well past the line of scrimmage.

He ended up clearing the first down line by about six yards anyways, and Illinois’ drive continued on. The Illini ended up with a field goal that gave them a commanding 31-10 lead over Nebraska in the second half.
Illinois hasn’t won in Lincoln since 1924. Nebraska has won the last four games in this series.
