Illinois Sydney Brown delivers vicious (but clean) hit on Purdue TE Payne Durham

If you looked away during Illinois/Purdue, you probably heard this hit.
Purdue quarterback Jack Plummer missed tight end Payne Durham on a short pass, but Durham got laid out by Illinois defensive back Sydney Brown. It was clean if you look at the replay — he didn’t lead with his helmet — and no flags were thrown. But you could hear just how hard of a hit it was.

Durham walked off under his own power, but hasn’t been back on the field since. He’s officially listed as questionable to return.
Illinois and Purdue are in the second half of a defensive battle in West Lafayette, all tied up at 6 after 2 field goals each in the 3rd quarter. Neither team’s offense has looked particularly great, with 234 combined yards between them.
We’ll see if things pick up in the second half on the B1G Network.
