Indiana basketball to resume major nonconference series during 2025-26 season

Indiana basketball is set to resume a nonconference series against Kentucky in the 2025-2026 season.
For the last few weeks, Indiana has been working on adding a notable SEC team to the nonconference schedule in the future. This will be an interesting series that will draw attention to both programs in the B1G and the SEC.
The Kentucky-Indiana series will return in 2025-26 season, says John Calipari.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari confirmed the series against Indiana. Calipari briefly discussed the future series:
“We’ve agreed in principle that we’ll be playing them,” Calipari said.
The locations for the series will be announced at a later time. The series will likely be a combination on neutral site and on-campus matchups. With the relatively close proximity between the 2 campuses, neutral arenas in the surrounding states.
Indiana and Kentucky had an annual series that took place 57 times. The last regular season meeting between Indiana and Kentucky happened in December 2011. Later that season in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, Kentucky defeated Indiana. The last time these 2 programs met was in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Indiana took down Kentucky in that tournament game.
Fans from both sides will be excited to witness a renewed series with 2 storied college basketball programs. Indiana’s regular season opener will be against Morehead State on Monday, Nov. 7.
