Indiana blown out by Kansas in lackluster road loss

Indiana had more than it could handle Saturday in an 84-62 road loss to No. 8 Kansas. That loss sends the Hoosiers to back-to-back losses and their third loss in the past four games.
When it was all said and done, Mike Woodson’s squad did not play particularly well on either side of the floor. On offense, Indiana shot just 37.7% from the field and 6-for-19 from 3-point range while committing 23 turnovers.
Defensively, Kansas was efficient all game long while shooting 51.5% from the field and 7-for-16 from 3-point range. All five starters for the Jayhawks finished in double figures for the game.
Trayce Jackson-Davis led Indiana with 13 points on 4-for-8 shooting and added 9 blocks to his tally. Race Thompson and Jalen Hood-Schifino added 11 points each but Hood-Schifino was just 2-for-11 from the field.
As for the Jayhawks, Gradey Dick led all scorers with 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting and a near-perfect 4-for-5 afternoon from 3-point range. Dajuan Harris Jr. and Kevin McCullar Jr. added double-doubles for Kansas.
A bigger concern for Indiana is the status of Xavier Johnson coming out of the game. Johnson did not return in the second half after going down with an injury in the first half and being helped off the court.
The Hoosiers get a bit of a reprieve in terms of competition before Christmas with games against Elon and Kennesaw State in the week ahead.
