Indiana ends another drought on Saturday as historic season rolls on

If this keeps up the Indiana Hoosiers are going to try to play football through more pandemics.

While many acres of the sport have burned, the Hoosiers have been cruising through green pastures, adding another milestone to the season yesterday as they knocked off their third AP ranked team in a season. The last time this happened it was 1945 and the second World War had just ended. 

Indiana is 6-1 and went into last week ranked 12th, but may find themselves back inside the top ten after taking care of the Wisconsin Badgers 14-6 inside Camp Randall Stadium. The Hoosiers have beaten Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and now Wisconsin in the same campaign, a feat essentially unheard of in the annals of Bloomington, Indiana’s (most likely) favorite football team.

They have only one game left in the regular slate, the Old Oaken Bucket matchup with Purdue, a series played for a trophy since 1925, making it one of the oldest rivalry games in the United States. Purdue leads the all-time series 74-42-6, and the trophy game 60-32-3, but the way things are going this year the Hoosiers may be leaving Memorial Stadium with a new old bucket for the trophy case.
