Indiana has a new defender, picking up a commitment from a transfer defensive back out of the portal on Friday.
The player is Brylan Lanier, a redshirt freshman who spent his first season of eligibility at Alabama. He was a part of a group of Crimson Tide players that hit the portal shortly after the national championship.
Now, he’s heading to Bloomington to play for Tom Allen and the Hoosiers:

Lanier originally committed to Georgia State as a 3-star prospect out of Cottondale, Alabama for the class of 2021. He eventually went to Alabama as a walk-on for the 2021 season.
Listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 lbs., it will be interesting to see how Lanier fits into Indiana’s defense for 2022.
