No. 10 Indiana has landed an ACC wide receiver from the transfer portal. Florida State transfer DJ Matthews announced on Twitter that he’s joining the Hoosiers.

Matthews entered the transfer portal in September.

He amassed 83 receptions, 807 yards, and 5 touchdowns in his three seasons at Florida State. Matthews started in 9 games last season. Matthews tallied 10 receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown against N.C. State in 2018.

Matthews has been dynamic on special teams, as he ranks 10th all time in Florida State history with 582 punt return yards. Matthews came into the 2020 season ranked eighth among active players in the FBS in yards per return (10.4).

Matthews was rated as a four-star prospect coming out of Jacksonville, Florida and held offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU and Alabama.

The addition of Matthews will help the depth of Indiana. It’s expected that wide receivers Whop Philyor and Ty Fryfogle will be departing after this season.

Indiana will attempt to remain undefeated when they travel to face Michigan State on Saturday (11 a.m. CST/ABC).
