Indiana names team captains for 2021 season

After a breakout 2020 season that saw the program emerge from the shadows of the storied basketball ranks, Indiana head coach Tom Allen has announced the Hoosiers team captains.

The Hoosiers open the much anticipated start of the 2021 season against Iowa on the road on Saturday, looking to build on the momentum from their successful, and exciting 2020 campaign.
Among those leading the charge, a healthy Michael Penix at quarterback will be key to the Hoosiers success this time around. Also, the return to the secondary of Marcelino Ball after an ACL tear that kept him out last season will be a help.
Also on the captains list, Big Ten’s receiver of the year and third team All-American Ty Fryfogle returned, rather than riding the wave to the NFL Draft. After finishing his degree in May, and after being part of one of the best seasons in IU football history returns for another round.
Indiana opens on the road at Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 4, with a 2:30 PM kickoff.
