Indiana opens up lead against Tennessee thanks to 63-yard pick-six for DB Jamar Johnson

Indiana’s offense was struggling for quite some time in the Gator Bowl against Tennessee. By halftime, the Volunteers led the Hoosiers 6-3.

Three field goals were made. That was all the scoring that took place.

But early in the second half, Indiana went down and scored a touchdown, giving itself its first lead of the game at 10-6. Two plays later, Hoosiers sophomore defensive back Jamar Johnson jumped on a route run by a Volunteers receiver and picked off the pass.

He would return it 63 yards for a touchdown, giving Indiana a 16-6 lead:

The game is at the midway point in the third quarter and is being televised on ESPN.

Tennessee made a change at quarterback after the pick-six, going with a freshman after the starting quarterback went 11-of-20 for 130 yards and two interceptions.
