Indiana posts comeback win over Michigan on Senior Night

Indiana basketball had to sweat it out, but earned a monumental win over Michigan to end the regular season Sunday afternoon. Down by 9 with under 10 minutes remaining, Indiana stormed back to tie the game in regulation before pulling away in overtime. The Wolverines scored just 4 points in overtime, losing 75-73.

The Hoosiers leaned on the frontcourt duo of Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson Sunday. The duo combined to score 43 points, with Thompson posting a double-double. Jackson-Davis finished with 6 assists on the evening, too.

Indiana finishes the regular season 21-10 and 12-8 in the B1G with the win over the Wolverines. It also considerably hurts Michigan’s chances of reaching the NCAA Tournament

What this means for Indiana

The Hoosiers have been back and forth the entire month of February leading into March. Heading into this game, Indiana had lost 2 of their last 3, but beat Purdue on Feb 25. in-between losses to Michigan State and Iowa.

The win guarantees Indiana at least a 3-seed (and a double-bye) in the B1G tournament, depending on what happens between Rutgers and Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. EST.

This is the first time Indiana has finished the regular season with a winning B1G record since 2016-17.
