Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke is returning to the lineup for Week 10, giving the Hoosiers a major boost in search of a 9-0 start.
Rourke was injured in the first half of a Week 8 game against Nebraska. He would finish out the half but was unable to come out for the second half as the Hoosiers capped a blowout win over the Huskers.
The star QB would go on to miss last week’s game against Washington with Tayven Jackson filling in. While Jackson and the offense did enough to punctuate a double-digit win, the passing attack lagged behind what it had been under Rourke.
Fortunately, the Hoosiers received the good news of Rourke’s return Thursday night. Head coach Curt Cignetti confirmed Rourke will be the starter and will play vs. Michigan State this Saturday.

Heading into Week 10, Indiana is 2nd nationally and barely trails Miami in offensive points per game with 46.5, and Rourke’s a major reason why. He leads the nation with a 188.71 passer rating and is 2nd nationally while completing 74.6% of his passes for 1,941 yards, 15 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions.
Filling for Rourke, Jackson went 11-for-19 for 124 yards, a touchdown and an interception vs. Washington while also rushing for a touchdown. That was a solid performance considering the situation, but Rourke’s return should give Indiana a major boost to keep its undefeated start rolling.
