Indiana parted ways with Tom Allen on Sunday, and now one of its quarterbacks has opted to enter the transfer portal.

Dexter Williams II was a 4-year member of the program. A former 3-star prospect, he signed with the Hoosiers out of the class of 2020.

Williams announced the news of his transfer on social media on Sunday evening.

“It’s with a mix of gratitude and excitement that I share my decision to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with 2 years of eligibility remaining (3 years w/ my medical waive) to explore opportunities that allow me to highlight my athletic talents,” he wrote.

A redshirt in 2020, Williams tore his ACL in 2021 during spring practice and was lost for the year. In 2022, he played 4 times and started twice, completing 13 of his 38 passes for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also ran 40 times for 165 yards and a score. But he dislocated his right knee against Purdue on Nov. 26, 2022, and ultimately did not play a snap in 2023.
