Indiana still awaiting clearance of freshman DL

The Indiana Hoosiers are off and running at their fall camp.

Tom Allen’s squad is already working hard in practice with sights set on a much improved season. One of the biggest storylines for camp is the three-way quarterback battle between returning starter Peyton Ramsey, 2018 backup Michael Penix Jr., and newcomer Jack Tuttle on the offensive side of the ball.

Defensively, the Hoosiers are looking to improve on the 29.9 points per game that they allowed in 2018. Unfortunately, one freshman defensive lineman is still awaiting clearance and remains absent from Indiana’s camp.

Allen told reporters Monday that freshman Antoine Whitner is still waiting to be cleared for practices. He indicated an important meeting was going on Monday with hopes that Whitner would be cleared and on the field for practice in the next few days.

Whitner was listed as a 3-star ATH out of Florida on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings as a recruit.
