Indiana receiver J-Shun Harris was nominated for the Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award on Wednesday, following a big day as a return specialist against Virginia.
Harris, a redshirt junior, was named the B1G’s Special Teams Player of the Week after racking up 109 yards and a touchdown on five punt returns in Charlottesville on Saturday. The receiver has overcome some significant injury obstacles over the past two seasons, recovering from ACL tears in 2015 and 2016.

Harris is the first nominee of the 2017 season.
Information on the award was found on the FWAA’s website:
The Courage Award was first presented by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) in 2002. A select group of writers from the FWAA vote on the winner each year. The requirements for nomination include displaying courage on or off the field, including overcoming an injury or physical handicap, preventing a disaster or living through hardship. The winner of the award will be included in festivities during Capital One Orange Bowl week and receive his trophy at an on-field presentation.
In addition to Harris’ big day against Virginia in Week 2, the junior receiver caught one pass for four yards against Ohio State.
