Indiana’s big win over UConn on Saturday marked a significant accomplishment for Tom Allen and the program.

The Hoosiers registered a 38-3 victory over the Huskies to improve to 3-1 on the season and finish non-conference play with a perfect 3-0 record. That win marked the third straight season in which IU has finished the non-league slate with three wins and no losses, extending its regular season non-conference winning streak to nine games.

According to Indiana football, that mark is the best the program has enjoyed in 104 years. The Hoosiers sent out a tweet following the victory.

It’s a big accomplishment for Indiana, which has struggled on the field for some time. But winning non-conference games has become the norm in Bloomington.

Now, it’s just a matter of piecing together three B1G wins this season to get to bowl eligibility.

Indiana defeated Ball State, Eastern Illinois and UConn to get to 3-0 this season.
