An Iowa assistant coach is considered one of the top candidates for the recent head coaching vacancy at North Dakota State, according to reports.

FootballScoop.com is reporting that Iowa offensive line coach Tim Polasek is one of three primary candidates being considered for the position. The Bison are searching for a new head coach after Chris Klieman accepted the job at Kansas State earlier this week.

Polasek has a deep familiarity with the North Dakota State program, having coached in Fargo for a decade under Craig Bohl and Klieman. In 2006, he was Bison’s running backs coach and added special teams coordinator duties in 2010.

After a stint at Northern Illinois, Polasek returned to NDSU as an offensive coordinator in 2014. He remained in that position for three seasons, before taking the offensive line coach job at Iowa prior to the 2017 season.

The two other candidates being considered are North Dakota State defensive coordinator Matt Entz and Wyoming offensive coordinator Brent Vigen, according to FootballScoop.com.
