Iowa is still undefeated, and still in control of its own playoff destiny.
Following the program’s first 12-0 regular season in school history, the Hawkeyes came in at No. 4 in the latest College Football Playoff poll. They’ll have a chance to lock up a top-four spot in the College Football Playoff poll with a win against Michigan State in the B1G Championship on Saturday night in Indianapolis.
The Hawkeyes were one of three B1G teams that still could have a shot at the College Football Playoff. Michigan State is obviously in the same position as Iowa at No. 5 while No. 6 Ohio State needs upsets in conference championships to sneak into the field.
Heading into Saturday, Iowa is a four-point underdog. The matchup against Michigan State will mark the first time Kirk Ferentz’s squad will take on a top-10 team.
Even with a loss, the Hawkeyes could very easily be looking at a New Year’s Six bowl.
