Iowa will have a new offensive analyst this season, head coach Kirk Ferentz announced Wednesday.
According to Tom Kakert with the Hawkeye Report, Ferentz confirmed Wednesday that Iowa will have Jon Budmayr as an analyst with the team this season. Budmayr was a QB at Wisconsin and served on Paul Chryst’s staff in multiple roles, including as a QB coach from 2018-20.
Budmayr joined Colorado State’s staff as the offensive coordinator and QBs coach for Steve Addazio for the 2021 season. Addazio was fired following the 2021 season.
Kirk confirmed that former Wisconsin QB and Colorado State OC and QB coach Jonathon Budmyer is now an analyst on staff.

Budmayr’s duties remain to be seen but Iowa is certainly eager to see some development at the QB position. Hopefully Budmayr is able to help the Hawkeyes find some consistency under center with Spencer Petras and Alex Padilla heading into 2022.
