Iowa basketball set the tone from the very beginning.

The Hawkeyes jumped out to a 16-5 lead over No. 15 Indiana Tuesday night, making their first 5 shot from the field. The Hawkeyes kept their foot on the gas pedal, soaring to a 90-68 win in Bloomington.

That’s a good sign for Iowa heading into the month of March. The Hawkeyes, who dropped a pair of games to Wisconsin and Northwestern last week, rebounded well by beating Michigan State and now Indiana.

Tony Perkins and Kris Murray each eclipsed 20 points, with Murray leading the way with 26 and Perkins adding 23 of his own.

What this means for Iowa moving forward

Simply put, a lot.

The Hawkeyes were sitting at around a 9-seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, but a win over a top 15 team will no doubt move the Hawkeyes up the board.

The Hawkeyes are back in action Sunday against Nebraska.
