Iowa football is heading to a bowl game after finishing the regular season at 7-5. The team announced some team awards for multiple players on Sunday per The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman.
Jack Campbell and Sam LaPorta are now officially team captains as well as team MVP’s. Campbell has 115 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions. LaPorta was the Hawkeyes leading receiver once again with 601 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
Iowa announced TE Sam LaPorta and LB Jack Campbell were named team MVPs. In addition, LaPorta and Campbell joined CB Riley Moss, S Kaevon Merriweather and P Tory Taylor as permanent team captains.

The other players that got voted as team captains were CB Riley Moss, S Kaevon Merriweather, and P Tory Taylor. WR Diante Vines is the Comeback Player of the Year after returning from a wrist injury that sidelined him for the majority of 2022. Vines played in the final six games of the regular season.
Iowa fans can make a solid case for either of those players to be voted as team captains. The Hawkeyes will face Kentucky in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 31 at noon ET on ABC.
