Iowa added a commit to its 2023 class on Monday. Ryan Kuennen announced that he’ll be staying in the state of Iowa.
Kuennen is a native of West Des Moines, Iowa and is a DE that is unrated by 247Sports. The other school that sent Kuennen an offer was Northern Illinois.
This is what Kuennen said about his decision to head to Iowa City:
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to play football at the University of Iowa,” said Kuennen. “I want to thank my parents, coaches, teammates and everyone that has helped me get to where I am today. Go hawks!!”

The Hawkeyes currently have the No. 4 rated 2023 class among the B1G schools with 22 total commits now that Keunnen has signed on.
Kuennen is the first DE to commit to Kirk Ferentz’s 2023 class. Iowa worked quickly to secure Kuennen’s commitment before the Early Signing Period. Kuennen comes in at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds.
