The accolades keep pouring in for Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell.

On Thursday the Pacific Club IMPAT Foundation made the announcement that Jewell was named the Player of the Week following Iowa’s 24-3 win over Wyoming in Week 1. The Iowa linebacker finished with 14 tackles and two sacks.

Iowa earned $1,000 towards its general scholarship fund for the recognition according to HawkeyeSports.com.

Jewell was also named the B1G Defensive Player of the Week, national Defensive Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, and Bednarik Award Player of the Week for his performance.

The Hawkeyes hope to have a similar performance from their star linebacker again this week as Iowa travels to Ames to battle in-state rival Iowa State.
