What looks like a big day for most linebackers tends to be a typical day for Jewell, who’s racked up over 120 tackles each of the past two seasons. Against Wyoming, the senior accounted for 14 tackles, 2.5 stops for loss, two sacks and a pass break-up.
Iowa defeated the Cowboys 24-3 in the Week 1 game.
Missouri quarterback Drew Lock was also named the Player of the Week, after throwing for 521 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Hawkeyes travel to Ames next week to battle in-state rival Iowa State.
