Alaric Jackson has been an impact player since he stepped 2017, and the Hawkeyes will get him for one more season.
The star tackle for Iowa started the 2019 season in disappointing fashion, leaving the game vs Miami (OH) with a knee injury. Thankfully, he was able to return to the field after missing a few games. Jackson was also a part of Iowa’s big-time rout of USC in Friday’s Holiday Bowl.

After the game, Jackson provided an update on his status for 2020. He indicated he never intended to go pro after this season, and that decision was only reinforced by the health struggles he is still trying to overcome.
Jackson will indeed return for 2020 with a focus on improving pass protection. Chad Leistikow with the Des Moines Register Sports shared Jackson’s comments:
Iowa LT Alaric Jackson said he never even considered turning pro after this year. Hasn't been healthy, still isn't, he added. Wants to improve pass pro especially. Will be a four-year starting left tackle at Iowa.
