Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley has earned national recognition following his outstanding performance against Ohio State on Saturday.

Stanley was named the Rose Bowl Player of the Week on Monday after shredding the Buckeyes defense. The Hawkeyes gunslinger completed 20-of-31 passes for 226 yards and five touchdowns, leading his team to a 55-24 win.

There were several outstanding performances this week, but Stanley’s stood out most to the Rose Bowl. Ironically, Stanley was not mentioned as a B1G Player of the Week.

Stanley has thrown for 1,929 yards and 22 touchdowns this season while completing 58 percent of his passes. The Hawkeyes are 6-3 and are 3-3 in the B1G after Saturday’s win over the Buckeyes.

Iowa was also named the FWAA Team of the Week on Monday after the victory.
