For the second time today, an Iowa defensive star has decided to enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Senior defensive lineman Chauncey Golston is joining B1G Defensive Player of the Year Daviyon Nixon in turning pro.

Golston announced his decision on Twitter:

Golston flashed dynamic potential last season with 3 sacks and elevated his game to another level during his senior campaign. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Golston earned All-B1G First-team honors for amassing 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception this season.

Golston was an integral piece in a dominant Iowa defense that never allowed over 24 points this season. Iowa began the season at 0-2 before finishing the B1G slate on a six-game winning streak.

Golston’s best performance of the season came in a victory against Penn State. In that contest, Golston tallied a sack, a tackle for loss, and an interception.

The Detroit native totaled 130 tackles, 12 sacks, and 3 interceptions during his Iowa career.
