Iowa star OL Tyler Linderbaum announces plans for 2021 season

Iowa found some serious success in 2020 as the Hawkeyes turned an 0-2 start into a 6-2 season. That came thanks in part to a strong offense led by some tough linemen up front.

One of those linemen was standout center Tyler Linderbaum. He had a standout 2020 season and some considered him a strong target for NFL teams if he decided to leave Iowa City as a junior and pursue his pro dreams.

On Thursday, we learned teams are going to have to wait a year to get their hands on Linderbaum.

Linderbaum appears ready to do more for the Hawkeyes, despite the fact Mel Kiper had Linderbaum listed as a potential top-three center in the 2021 Draft. That likely would’ve made him a first-round pick.

The Solon, Iowa, native was an AP second-team All-American in 2020. He has quite the story as he entered college as a defensive lineman then was moved to the other side of the ball.

In the past two seasons, he has started every game and earned high praise from places such as Pro Football Focus, which at one time had him graded as the top center in college football.
