Clemson and Iowa State are squaring off in the main event Wednesday night. No, it’s not the College Football Playoff, it’s the Cheez-It Bowl.

Okay, that is certainly not the main event of the week, and the first half of action was forgettable with a 6-3 score at the break. However, one wild play in the second half was certainly entertaining.

That play came when Iowa State QB Brock Purdy had a pass batted up a defensive lineman and deflected up into the air. Remarkably, Purdy tracked the deflection and had a chance to catch the ball or bat it to the ground. Unfortunately, Purdy batted the ball directly into the arms of a Clemson defender who rolled all the way for a touchdown.

Needless to say, Purdy’s volleyball skills did not serve him well on this play.
