Iowa tight ends Noah Fant and T.J. Hockenson have made college football history.

On Wednesday, the John Mackey Award announced the Tight Ends of the Week following Saturday’s action. Fant and Hockenson split the honor, the first ever co-winners from the same team.

It seems only appropriate that Iowa was the first school to make this a reality.

Fant and Hockenson both had incredible performances on Saturday against Indiana. Hockenson was the team’s leading receiver with four receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Fant wasn’t far behind, also recording four catches for 102 yards and one touchdown.

The Hawkeyes defeated the Hoosiers 42-16 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Fant and Hockenson have been incredible all season for Iowa’s offense and are the two leading pass-catchers for the year. Combined, the tight end tandem has hauled in 45 catches for 692 yards and nine touchdowns.

Don’t be surprised if Fant and Hockenson split this award again later on in the season.
