Iowa vs. Nebraska is gearing up for another version of the Heroes Game rivalry in Week 13. That game is set for a Black Friday kickoff, but the action could produce a painfully low point total.
When the opening lines for Rivalry Week were revealed, Circa Sports listed Iowa as a -2 favorite on the road. However, the over/under for the game was set at 29.5 and some sportsbooks have opened as low as 27.5 for the point total.

If the line does stay at 27.5, it would match the lowest FBS total ever for a game. Iowa’s matchup against Rutgers this season also landed at the 27.5 number, and the number would also give the Hawkeyes a 6th game in the past 14 with an over/under that hits the lowest or ties for the lowest in FBS history.
The Iowa-Nebraska total opens at O/U 27.5 points.
This would match the lowest FBS total EVER, tying Iowa’s game vs. Rutgers two weeks ago.
This will be the 6th time in Iowa’s past 14 games the Over-Under is the lowest/ co-lowest FBS total ever.

Overall, the under for that game seems likely with the two defenses in play and Iowa’s recent work this season. The Hawkeyes have played 5 straight games with a point total of 28 or less, and 4 of those games have been below 28 total points.
Most recently, Iowa beat Illinois 15-13 to secure the outright B1G West title.
