Iowa women’s basketball point guard Caitlin Clark is off to a sensational start to her sophomore campaign. Clark already racked up her second triple-double of her college career during No. 8 Iowa’s 87-67 victory vs. Southern.

The floor general tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the win on Nov. 17.

The humble Clark was unaware of the milestone until late in the contest. Iowa didn’t register a triple-double since Sam Logic in 2015 prior to Clark’s arrival last season.

“Anytime you get a triple-double is pretty special,” Clark said via The Daily Iowan. “Definitely pretty challenging, but I didn’t really know until coach Bluder told me at the end and put me back in.”

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder was effusive in her praise for the talented point guard.

“That is very special,” Bluder said via The Daily Iowan. “That is really hard to get, really hard to get. And for her to get into 29 minutes of play is even more spectacular, really. Some of her passes were amazing tonight. For her to get 10 rebounds, to guard defensive rounds, is also quite good.”

Next up for Iowa is a home matchup with in-state opponent Drake on Nov. 21.
