There could be some QB controversy brewing in Iowa.
Hawkeyes quarterback Spencer Petras was pulled for backup Alex Padilla in the Northwestern game after only playing three series on offense. Petras was dealing with a shoulder injury he acquired during the Wisconsin game.
Padilla came in and threw for 172 yards passing, as the Hawkeyes got the 17-12 win against the Wildcats.
Head coach Kirk Ferentz stated that the team is going to look at the film and make a decision on who to go with moving forward.
Now it looks like the team has made up their minds. A depth chart put on Twitter by The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman shows that Padilla will be the starter with Deuce Hogan as the backup for the Minnesota game on Saturday with no sign of Petras.
Iowa’s depth chart for Minnesota does not include QB Spencer Petras.
DBs Riley Moss and Terry Roberts also are not listed but Kirk Ferentz was optimistic on both for this weekend. pic.twitter.com/1XYg3rVqST
