Iowa forward Filip Rebraca will be returning to the program for the 2022-23 season, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. The news broke on Tuesday afternoon.
Rebraca spent 3 seasons at North Dakota before transferring to Iowa ahead of the 2021-22 season. He started in all 36 games for the Hawkeyes during the past year.
Rebraca averaged 5.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during the 2021-22 season. He reached double-figure scoring totals in 5 games and ended the season with 3 games grabbing 10 or more rebounds.
The senior forward’s lone double-double of the year came in an 81-71 win over Minnesota, totaling 12 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.
Filip Rebraca tells me that he plans to return to Iowa next season and use his additional year of eligibility.

In his 3 previous seasons at North Dakota, Rebraca started in 74 games and played in 87 total contests. He averaged 10.9 points and 7 rebounds per game over those 3 years. Rebraca recorded 20 double-doubles and scored in double figures in 33 of his final 34 games.
Rebraca was an All-Summit League mention in each of his final two seasons at North Dakota. He earned second-team honors in 2020-21 and was an honorable mention for the 2019-20 season.
Iowa closed the 2021-22 season with a 26-10 record and a 12-8 mark in B1G play. The Hawkeyes won this year’s B1G Tournament by defeating Northwestern, Rutgers, Indiana and Purdue.
