Isaiah Nichols is a veteran defensive line contributor out of Arkansas. Early Tuesday morning, Nichols confirmed a B1G transfer destination.
A 3-star prospect of the 2018 recruiting class, the 6-foot-3 and 300-pound Nichols announced he is transferring to Ryan Walters’ Purdue program. Nichols brings some experience to the middle of the Boilermaker defense for Walters’ first season in 2023.

During the 2022 season, Nichols produced 16 tackles and a tackle for loss with the Razorbacks. His most productive season came in 2021 when he had 21 total tackles, 3.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
During Purdue’s bowl game appearance, Drew Brees helped out as an interim assistant coach for the Boilermakers. He also made an appearance during College GameDay to pitch Purdue as a viable destination for players in the transfer portal.
We’ll see if any other players follow Nichols and Brees’ pitch with a transfer to West Lafayette.
