It sounds like an NFL legend could be retiring in the very near future

Last month, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck stunned the football world by announcing his immediate retirement from NFL right before the start of the regular season. Now, there could be another surprise announcement out of Indianapolis this season.
Based on a tweet sent out by Stephen Holder of The Athletic, it sounds like legendary kicker Adam Vinatieri could be the next Colt to hang up the cleats. There’s been no official word, but it certainly sounds like he could be calling it quits.
Just grabbed Adam Vinatieri was he headed to the bus. He said “you’ll here from me tomorrow.” I told him we don’t see him tomorrow. And he said, “Yeah, you will.”

The tweet from Holder comes after Vinatieri missed two extra point attempts in Indianapolis’ game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. He’s converted on just 2-of-5 extra point attempts this season and is 1-of-3 on field goal attempts.
Vinatieri, who turns 47 in December, has been in the NFL since 1996, over two decades as a kicker at the highest level. He’s a four-time Super Bowl champion, and a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
Vinateiri is the NFL’s all-time field goal leader, knocking down 583 career field goals. He also has over 2,600 career points to his name, most in NFL history.
He has spent his entire career with two NFL franchises, the New England Patriots and the Colts.
