J.J. Watt, one of the top defenders in the NFL, will miss the remainder of the 2017 season with a leg injury according to multiple reports.
On Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that Watt suffered a tibial plateau fracture during this weekend’s game against Kansas City. The injury was sustained on the first drive of the game.
#Texans JJ Watt, who the team just announced has a tibial plateau fracture, is out for the season, source said. Another year ended on IR.

Watt, who played in just three games last season and missed the rest of the season with an injury, was devastated by the news.
He tweeted about his dejection, apologizing to the Texans fan base early Monday morning.
I can't sugarcoat it, I am devastated.
All I want to do is be out there on that field for my teammates and this city.
I'm sorry.— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) October 9, 2017
The injury is even more disappointing because of all the charitable efforts Watt promoted prior to the start of the NFL season. He helped raise millions of dollars for victims of Hurricane Harvey and the flooding that ensued in the Houston area.
As he says in his tweet, “All I want to do is be out there on that field for my teammates and this city.”
Watt had recorded 15 tackles through the first four games of the regular season.
