Jack Campbell remains a huge bright spot, even though things haven’t been great for Iowa. The Hawkeyes are 3-3 and currently 5th in the B1G West.
The senior has been an ace on defense and even special teams for the Hawkeyes. Assistant coach Levar Woods praised the linebacker’s work with the unit.

“As far as coverage goes, been happy with the coverage. You guys have seen this in games already,” said Woods. “You’ve seen we’re flying down the field making tackles…Jack Campbell down there making tackles. Xavier Nwankpa, a freshman, is doing it and doing it well.”
Campbell is one of the best players Iowa has. He recorded 140 tackles as a junior while being named First-team All-B1G. Campbell has 63 tackles through six games this season.
“I think it really speaks to the culture that we have here and the way this team operates. It speaks to the character of the guys,” Woods explained. “An All-American LB in Jack Campbell flying down the field making tackles. Not just doing it willingly, but wanting to do it…Think it speaks volumes to his character and what he wants to do on this football team.”
Can Campbell play offense? Maybe he can help Iowa score some points.
