Jacoby Windmon is a veteran player and a key contributor for Michigan State’s defense this season. Now, he’s preparing for his first game in the rivalry series against Michigan.

On Tuesday, Windmon said the biggest thing he’s dealing with for the rivalry series is working to “block out the noise” ahead of Saturday. He also knows the Spartans will need to be “the best version of ourselves” for the game in Ann Arbor.

Windmon also revealed that Mel Tucker’s education on the rivalry included notes about Michigan’s resistance to the Spartans joining the B1G leading up to 1953.

As for playing in the Big House, Windmon says the Spartans will try to let their game do the talking on Saturday. Hopefully, that play allows Michigan State to quiet what is sure to be a rowdy environment for the game.

So far this season, Windmon has 37 total tackles. He leads the Spartans with 10.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks and 6 forced fumbles. We’ll see if he’s able to come up with another game-changing play in the showdown with the Wolverines.
