No. 14 Michigan State had a big game on the defensive side of the ball as the Spartans shut out Arkon 52-0 led by a big performance by edge rusher Jacoby Windmon. Windmon accounted for 5 total tackles, 3 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup, and 3 forced fumbles in the win over Akron.

He was the leader of a huge defensive performance from Michigan State that allowed only 225 total yards from the offense of Akron. Michigan State’s defense accounted for 9 tackles for loss and 5 sacks while 5 turnovers from Akron. Michigan State was able to account for 28 points off those 5 turnovers.

Windmon accounted for 3 of the 5 forced fumbles against Akron. He was one of the most consistent and best all-around defenders on the field for Michigan State.
