Jacoby Windom, Michigan State Edge, uses wonderful chess analogy to describe development as a pass rusher

Jacoby Windmon had a big day against Western Michigan. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Edge rusher recorded 4 sacks and a forced fumble in Michigan State’s season-opening victory.
Despite his success, Windmon did not appear to be satisfied per MLive.com.
“He said ‘Man, BT, we’ve got to get in the lab tomorrow,” Michigan State pass rush specialist Brandon “BT” Jordan said as Windmon was coming off the field from the win.
Windmon, who transferred from UNLV prior to the season, has his eyes on the bigger picture; the next outcome. Or as he put it, a common thinking game.
“It’s like playing chess,” Windmon said. “You’ve got to set up for the next move.”
At UNLV, Windmon recorded 169 tackles, 18.5 TFLs, and 12 sacks over three seasons. He was an All-Mountain West honoree twice with the Rebels in 2020 and 2021.
Windmon hopes his continued success translates to East Lansing in the coming weeks. The rusher has some under moves that fans might see coming in the green and white.
“I feel like that’s a good move for me, but the ultimate end goal is to set up my next move,” Windmon said. “That’s just something I’m looking forward to.”
