Jacory Barney Jr. is a 4-star recruit and a key athlete prospect out of Miami Palmetto High School in Florida. He has made plays on both sides of the ball in high school and could line up as a receiver or defensively in the secondary at the next level.
On Monday, Barney announced his final group of programs vying for his commitment. Matt Rhule’s Nebraska program made the final 3 alongside Miami out of the ACC and Texas A&M from the SEC.

Barney’s listed at 6 feet and 160 pounds and is a 4-star prospect per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the 35th ATH in the country for the 2024 recruiting class.
Barney opened the month of June with an official visit to Nebraska and has followed that up with visits to Texas A&M, West Virginia, Illinois and Miami. It’s a good sign that the Huskers are still in the final group after hosting Barney for a visit, but 247 Sports analyst Steve Wiltfong has logged a crystal ball prediction in favor of the hometown Hurricanes for Barney’s commitment.
