Andy Katz think guard Jaden Akins is primed for a strong season for Michigan State this year.
Akins played well in a role off the bench last season for the Spartans, but key losses to Gabe Brown, Marcus Bingham and Max Christie open up minutes for the rising sophomore.
Whether he will start for Izzo and company is unclear, but he will be playing a major role for Michigan State in 2022-23.
“Akins had a very good season last year. 9 points, 6 rebounds per 40 minutes last season,” Katz said Sunday. “Those numbers are expected to increase, Akins will have a major role for Michigan State this season.”
