James Franklin knows it can be a lot for a freshman to see as much action as Abdul Carter did at LB last year. Franklin talked about how Carter is doing in year two at the position.
Carter seemed to handle the pressure well last season. In his first year with Penn State he recorded 56 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks in 13 games played.
Franklin has liked what he’s seen from the LB so far. Franklin said Carter was in a “more confident place” than a year ago. This is a good sign for the Penn State defense.
Franklin said that Abdul Carter is in a “much more confident place” with taking on his role at linebacker in his second year.

The in-state product was a former 4-star LB from the 2022 class. The 247Sports Composite ranked Carter as the No. 28 LB and No. 10 prospect from Pennsylvania.
Carter adapted well to the game of college football as a freshman. Fans should be excited about what he brings to the table as a sophomore if he’s anything like he was last year.
