James Franklin cleared up any misconceptions about CB Joey Porter Jr. speaking with the press on Tuesday.
The star CB was conspicuously absent from Penn State’s 30-0 win over Maryland on Saturday. After the game, Franklin told the press that it was a non-football injury situation that kept Porter from the field but did not provide any further details. Porter’s absence was heavily speculated on.
On Tuesday, Franklin put the rumors to rest, announcing to the media that Porter did not play because he had a case of appendicitis. Franklin acknowledged the speculation, stating that there had been some “misreporting out there” about Porter.
James Franklin said there's been "misreporting out there" regarding CB Joey Porter Jr.
"I will get into the specifics of this one. Joey had appendicitis. That's what happened."
Unclear who misreported that. Fans speculated quite a bit.
