James Franklin identifies positions where Penn State may take transfers

With over 10 Penn State players opting to enter the NCAA’s transfer portal, the Nittany Lions have lost some depth. James Franklin is looking to alleviate some of the issues caused by transfers out with incoming transfers.
“Like a lot of programs in the country, we’re going to maybe add a few guys between now and then (Week 1) from a transfer perspective,” Franklin said this week, per PennLive.
“Wide receiver is something we got our eyes open and are looking around for, and possibly on the offensive line as well. That’s something that could change our picture here between now and camp as well.”
PSU won’t focus solely on offensive transfers. The staff will look at defenders as well.
“D-tackle, safety, that would help us obviously going into the summer, feeling like we have a better picture of what that’s going to look like in the fall,” Franklin said.
Penn State is set to add departing Florida State wide receiver George Campbell after graduation. The Nittany Lions will also host former Virginia receiver Eric Kumah on a visit next week. Kumah’s UVA teammate, OL RJ Proctor, is also planning to transfer.
