James Franklin and the Nittany Lions picked up a big road win over USC on Saturday afternoon.

In the aftermath of the 33-30 overtime win, Penn State cornerback Audavion Collins took a Penn State flag to midfield. After a brief attempt to plant it at the 50-yard line at the LA Memorial Coliseum, Franklin shut it down.

Video from The Athletic’s Audrey Snyder shows Franklin rushing over to grab the flag away from his sophomore defensive back:

Franklin isn’t allowing any extracurriculars, but this was a win worth celebrating for Penn State. The Nittany Lions trailed 30-23 late before Drew Allar led a game-tying touchdown drive with a little over 2 minutes remaining. Then, Penn State picked off Miller Moss at the end of regulation to prevent a potential game-winning field goal attempt from USC.

Penn State has still not lost a regular-season Big Ten game to a team other than Ohio State or Michigan since Nov. 27, 2021.

Penn State will be idle in Week 8, but the Nittany Lions will go on the road again in Week 9 to Wisconsin.
