Penn State is back in the Rose Bowl!
Since Ohio State and Michigan both reached the College Football Playoff, the Nittany Lions have earned a spot in the Rose Bowl, a battle between the best remaining B1G and Pac-12 teams.
Head coach James Franklin released a statement on the opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl Sunday afternoon.

This is Penn State’s 5th all-time appearance in the Rose Bowl, the school’s first since 2016 against USC. The Nittany Lions have not won the Rose Bowl since 1994, when Penn State defeated Oregon 38-20.
And it should be a good game this season. Utah kicked USC out of the College Football Playoff field and ensured the matchup against Penn State in doing so.
So in a way, the Nittany Lions need to thank their opponent for this one before taking the field.
