One of the best receivers in the B1G has apparently gotten a lot better. James Franklin had plenty of positive things about the development of Jahan Dotson while meeting with reporters on Tuesday.
Dotson, Penn State’s top receiver in the passing attack one of the best players at the position in the conference, is apparently even bigger, stronger and more explosive than he was a year ago. That’s going to be quite a challenge for B1G defensive backs.
Last year, Dotson totaled 884 yards and 8 touchdowns on 52 receptions. Franklin believes with the receiver’s additional skill set, he can be an even bigger threat in the passing attack.
“He’s always been silky, smooth and fluid,” Franklin said. “He’s subtle with his moves. But now that he’s more explosive and stronger and bigger, that’s gives him a chance for him to have more explosive plays for us.”

Dotson was virtually unstoppable for the Nittany Lions last season. Not only did he encroach on the 1,000-yard mark in just 9 games, he eclipsed 100 yards five times during the 2020 campaign.
He had just one 100-yard contest in his previous two seasons.
Coming into the year, Dotson was already considered one of the best receivers in the B1G. If he’s really showing that much improvement in fall camp, he could be a really dangerous player for the Lions.
