James Franklin sends out challenge to Penn State fans for Saturday’s game vs. Indiana

A head coach throwing down the gauntlet of challenge is nothing new, and Penn State head coach James Franklin is familiar with the play.
Unlike last season when teams came to an empty Memorial Stadium, this year the Nittany Lions welcome their opponents to Happy Valley with a full house of rowdy fans — and this season’s game with Indiana will be a “Stripe Out” on Saturday night.
Franklin has called on the Nittany Lions faithful to rise to the occasion.

The game with Indiana will be the fourth straight home game for Penn State, and the traditional Stipe Out will see fans wear predetermined colors to create navy blue and white striped patterns around the stadium.
Revenge will be a factor for Penn State, as they lost to the Hoosiers last season on a controversial two-point conversion by IU quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. that ended the game.
Penn State is 22-2 all-time against Indiana, and the Hoosiers have never left Beaver Stadium with a victory. Kickoff is set for 6:30 PM, Saturday Oct. 2.
