Penn State is going to be without one of their best players on defense for the rest of the season.

During James Franklin’s press conference on Wednesday, he shared the news that PJ Mustipher won’t play again.

Mustipher suffered an injury during last Saturday’s game against Iowa and came out of the game after the 5th play. He was seen on crutches on the sidelines after he was ruled out for the rest of that contest.

This is a gigantic loss for the Nittany Lions as he was putting up some great numbers through 5 games. He had 21 total tackles (16 solo) with 1 sack after coming off a 2020 season where he finished with 35 total tackles (13 solo). He also finished that season with 1 sack and 1 pass defended.

Penn State will have to replace him by committee and the team’s first test in that regard will come next Saturday against Illinois.
